Hi i was just wondering what would be a good idea for stocking my 8x3 that im going to keep outside?

My mrs wants me to get rid of all my tanks but ive convinced her to keep the 8x3 providing i dont use heaters.

So ive obviously got to go with natives and was unsure of what would be available.

After ive decided what im stocking the tank with then i will work on filtration.

Thanks in advance for any input or advise

Silvers are a pain in the arse... In my experience they are quite sensitive to water temp changes. Murray Cod are cool... I wouldn't part with mine. Cant really have tank mates with cod though. You might get lucky and be able to keep silver perch and tandanus catfish and marron with the cod for a while but eventually they will be eaten.

With minimal heating you could do barra, scats and archers...

Wouldn't risk the cod with a tandanus, I lost my cod and my tandanus about two weeks ago because the cod tried to eat the tandanus and the tandanus spined and paralyzed the cods face so it basically died of stress. Stupid fish... i liked it too!

Most people reckon they go okay for ages... Ice, I dunno what you do to your fish mate... They all seem to have 'roid rage or something.

Good point you make though, you wouldn't want to risk a big 'ol cod... Very hard to replace.

There may be some coming in soon.

I have heard rumours of Mangrove Jacks possibly coming over shortly too...

mmmm imagine a mangrove in an 8 x 3... too bad it would eat any tank mates. Would look awesome though
