Hi all,

I have a 4ft x 1.5ft x 1ft tank and have been having a few issue with my skimmer! It randomly decides to overflow! Its a hang on skimmer I got from Guppies on the cheap. Its been fine for about a year but it randomly decides to spit the dummy and dump many ltrs of salt water all over the carpet! It has happened about 5 times.

I no longer live at home and my father has taken over the tank and he has had enough! What should I think about doing to stop the flooding tides?

Someone suggested getting a sump but am unsure how to go about it. The tanks doesnt have any overflow and is just a stock standard glass box style tank.

Any ideas to fix my problem? Otherwise I will be shutting it down because dad has blown his top over it!

If the tank water level isn't kept the same, the skimmer tune will be thrown out. Invest in a auto top off if you dont have one already, also drill the cup and put a hose nipple on it and run some hose to a bigger bottle. Note put the nipple down low so it can drain.
