Im hoping someone here has a good way of deterring mossies. They are everywhere in my area at the moment and driving us crazy.
We went down to our local pub last night and got eaten alive down there aswell, even when we moved indoors.
Im mainly after a way of keeping them away at home without having to apply anything to our skin. Both kids are getting bitten a lot.
Somebody mentioned growing garlic plants works.

Any ideas appreciated.

theres a magnetic like bracelet you can get that's supposed to repel mossies

Rosemary is supposed to be good at repelling insects... If I am not wrong, garlic grows in winter so probably would not be much help in summer when it is all withered...

Pyrethrum is a daisy like plant that should repel insects, as it is commonly used the plant based type insect sprays... I think Morten Naturgard Automatic Spray (which may be an option) uses an extract of pyrethrum... However, pyrethrum is toxic to aquatic animals, use with caution...

Or do what I do, put a bug zapper over an outdoor pond/tank and turn it on at night... attracts the bugs there, zap it and feed the fish...

Bushmans insect repellant is the best around.

I used this all the time when i worked up in far north queensland where the sand flies would eat you alive without it.

OK thanks all. I will be trying a few of your ideas if not all of them.
