Very detailed assessment and a very interesting read.

Depending on the level of demand and costs, this should be a great venture for the importer.

For those keen on an awesome TB, it'll be great to see these being bred in captivity in Australia.

And who knows, if breeding is favourable maybe they can be exported for release back into the wild in SE Asia in future years. :)

Does anyone know if there are any other draft import assessments for other species in the pipeline?

agreed, interesting read indeed.

Be amazing to see those come into australia, the price would be pretty intense i'd think.

Defiantly something to keep an eye on though, amazing fish.

There is Aussie Bred Aro's now available from Bayfish. Im thinking they will retail for around $1000-$1200 @ 8cm.

In related news, Bay fish have listed locally spawned aros. Still think translocation may be an issue & really expensive.

Can an LFS look into this? would be more then interested, if the price came in around 1k it wouldn't be too bad (sort of fetching that over east atm anyway)

edited: if it's locally bred, the interstate fisheries most likely will allow it.

we'd probably want some written confirmation from them first though, as the cost price plus shipping would be a major hit to any shop trying to bring them over.
