Damaged Fins

ive got a green acara i bought not knwing how badly damaged it was got it home and both his side fins are almost gone and he has a really badly damaed lip he must have been gettin ttacked by something at his old home was wondering if anyone knows the best thing to use to fix this??? and whether his side fins will actually grow back???

They'll grow back as long as you don't have any other fish that are going to do the same thing.
In my experience; there's not a problem with damaged fins (Other than movement being impaired and not so visually appealing).
My Gourami get their 'legs' bitten off every so often but they grow back quite quickly.

If you feel like you need to, put him/her in a hospital tank and maybe add some stress coat or melafix.

lil bit of salt will help too, stress coat is great cause it contains aloe so will help soothe the fish, it does take a while to grow back but they will

Make sure you maintain water quality and low stress.
