Scientific Name: Aulonocara sp. 'yellow collar'
Pronunciation: A-loo-no-car-a species yellow collar
Trade Name(s): Yellow Collar Peacock
Distribution: Chemwezi Rocks & Nankumba Peninsula but not at Thumbi West or Mumbo Islands,
Habitat: Intermediate habitats
Diet: Snails & other Invertebrates
Sexing: Males have a blue body with a yellow collar & white tip on the dorsal, anal & pelvic fins.
Females have a silver body..
Maximum Size: 15-16cm
Temperature: 24 to 26c
pH: 7.5 to 9.0
Water Hardness: 300-400ppm
Availability: Commonly Available in Oz. Northern variations are brighter in color & the Southern ones are darker & have less blue on the head.
