With regards to the Driftwood catfish, who is the other supplier if you don't mind me asking? Because as far as I know I've only seen them from Aquarium Industries....

Wow $14.95 + discount! That's a great buy. I should've mentioned that my fisheri are still small at 10cm and that my galeateus are between 20-25cm so I'd be surprised if your fish is indeed a galeatus. Perhaps uploading a pics would help, either way they're a neat fish and very audible too because whenever i'm preparing food for the fisheri's they start grunting with excitement!

Hey all, they were rare but they're farm raised in Indonesia these days at least the fish A.I. get and there's probably a good chance you'll see them available more often than not. And as for price I paid $35 each for mine but that's from my LFS who looks after me very well. I've seen for as high as $70 so to answer your question Jules, they're probably worth $40 - $50 imo. I've also managed to find some pics of the Galeatus when they were in my quarantine tank. They're not the best photos but it's better than nothing, enjoy.  :)

Here's some of my Trachelyopterus fisheri. I've got 6 fisheri's and 4 of the galeatus. What you describe must be a fisheri as they're the ones that have been available through AI lately. Also I just checked out AI's current stock list this morning and they've got more fisheri's. One of these days I got to take some photos of the galeatus but in typical adult auchenipterid fashion I count myself lucky to see them a few times a year!
