G'day guys. Are there any "slower" growing tank buster species out there? Most seem to have fast growth rates. Just want something that's not gonna need tank upgrades in a hurry. BTW, it's starting off in a 4x2x2 and then eventually moving to a 6x2x2. What's your thoughts? American or native, don't mind. Cheers

I read it takes lungfish 6 years to get to around 45cm, there just costly....

grab some of these tiger bichirs that are popping up over east, there small (around 800 a piece) and would last a while in a 4x2.

Sorry Graddo.

Bichirs more slow growing than most TBs, however they are quite expensive.

I have noticed Red Devil and Green terror cichlids to be quite slow growing, just depends if you would like something rarer I guess. If you can find them Leopard Ctenopoma are an awesome fish that only get to 15-20cm so would be suitable for a 4x2x2.

No probs. Leopard Bushfish look great. Would be something I would consider. Any available lately and cost?

Not really tank busters as such mate but nice fish. Giant gourami be fine for few years. Had mine be coming up a year and although it went from 3cm - 20cm real quick it has slowed down now. Great fish.

Leopard bushfish are no longer importable im informed, I called vebas and they cant get them.

there are some floating around but the ones over east are all $200 a piece, not really a TB but a shy oddball, interesting fish, and cool to.

I wish I knew where my old ones got too

Awesome to hear that there are some datnoids around.

Can datnoids be bred in captivity?
