One of my neon tetras has come out in large white growths. But they look to big to be ich based on my reading, i have attached a photo for you guys to have a look at. Mind the particules floating around. A yoyo loach had just face planted in the substrate to catch a stray snail.

last thing to be added was 2 of the Rams that were added a month and a half ago. but they were bout through a reputable shop that is a forum sponsor as well. just noticed something on one of the bristle noses, but it looks completely diffrent, trying to get a photo of that.
But this one neon tetra is the only fish showing those kind of spots.

But it seems to be effecting the spine of the fish to.
In this type of case it's best just to catch it out and dispatch it.
I don't know what it is, but at a guess, it's likely not contagious.

Closest I've seen is cottonmouth like that but was half the size and just on the mouth. Lesions on body.

I spoke with a friend who works at Vebas today and he recommend isolate and treat with a parasite medication. although the medication cost 10 times what the fish did i thought i would do it to see what results i get. just in case someone else comes across it.
Just set up an isolation tank and put a spare filter in it. Just waiting for the temperature to stabilize and then ill introduce him into that. The medication recommended was Blue Planets Paracide. Also the main reason for isolation was more the medication wouldn't sit well with my loaches and probably kill my shrimp.
Ill take some photos and keep everyone posted on progress.

So I have isolated him now but when i was transferring him i noticed one of the spots had disappeared and left what looks loe it had burst..... Also looking down from the top its spine is a bit wonky...
Although overall, he actually seems pretty happy, has been eating well and schooling with other fish..

Let's hope it's not a cyst that's full of juvi parasites blown open and spread through the whole tank.
That's why I said, best to whip stuff out like that, and dispatch it.
Even if out of interest to still treat it, that's good, but still dispatch it.
The world of parasites is a crazy one.
