Ok so they are back together. I put them with a lot of juveniles and a large bristlenose cat and they started defending a territory and look like they have spawned again so my advice would be create a hiding spot big enough for the male to seek shelter but too small for the female and they should reunite. Well mine did anyway.

I have always wanted to keep another american with personality so I have now aquired a male Dovii for the 6x2x2.
He is a pretty awesome fish. Can't wait to get some more size on him he is only about 20cm. I am trying to breed Leptosoma Utinta so at least I will have some other fry to raise.

One of my mates is into marines he said he has made extra thermostats on the power supply so that if the temp exceeds or drops out of range it cuts the power to the chiller or heater. He is gonna make me one. I'll find out more info and do a DIY for everyone.
In the meantime Saturday is looking good for a trip to Aquotix. I've always dreamed of owning a Dovii! The big old Africans don't seem to have as much enthusiasm as their american relatives.

I agree but shouldn't the heater stop working if the temperature of the water is above the set temperature on the heater? I have left it on for at least 6 summers with no dramas.
