Az, have those red Phoenix bred for you, or not yet ?
Compared to most other trophs, they hardly ever get mouthfuls, and occasionally when they do it's barely one or two fry from well matured parents.

Out of all the trophs I've kept, they seem the least timid.
Nice fish,,, with really high KH their colors become more vivid.

Thanks peeps. I scored a few fish from Karlos this week so he did the growing up of them including the ventralis.
Stunning fish, they spawned for Karl and that's where the fry came from. I now have two females holding after the male carrying on all day yesterday.

As for the Phoenix / Firefox, I scored 7 for $25 @ 8-10cm lost 3 in transit (came a long way) and the others have done nothing but jump ahead in leaps and bounds over the last week.
So to answer your question Buccal, I haven't spawned them yet but they are showing signs.
I've been chasing them for a few years after I sold one to Dazza when I worked at midland.
They certainly aren't shy.
Thanks for the heads up about the KH, I'll give that a crack.
