Hi All

I bought some bargain tanks and they cant fit in the house so I've decided I want to build a fish room.

Im planning to enclose one side of my patio, pic attached.

Would appreciate any advice on how to do it, I seen Tony make his room with freezer panels, looks like a good way to do it, anyone know where to get cheap panels from?

Cheers

Good luck with the new project den.

there is an Ice works in welshpool that always has stacks of panels out the front for cheap sale.

it is near the intersection of welshpool rd. and leach hwy. If you are heading east on leach turn right onto welshpool and its on the corner of the first right.

Thats the stage I'm at now haha. Its either build myself a big house or a shed. I'm going to have to get a concrete slab laid though. Keep us updated with how you go.

If you need still need panel let me know. I can get some custome made for you.

The company I work for can get it made.

Just remember if you start to use alot of coolroom panel it can keep the heat in abit..

Hi notsomot

Do the panels come in standard widths and heights? or do you make any width and height?

Does your Company have a website where I can find more info?

Hi Den,

Both Bondor (Canning Vale) and Austral Insulation (Malaga), can supply (new) cool-room sheeting: Austral are cheaper than Bondor, but offer less choice in exterior profiles. Both have web-sites that explain size etc. availability.
I have recently investigated the possibility of using cool-room panelling for my new fish-room, but decided against it on the grounds of cost. I have elected instead to use a well constructed shed (Outdoor World), and to line it with Styrofoam from Austral.
This should give a good result at a more reasonable (though still expensive) price, while causing me less grief with council requirements. This latter should not bother you as you will be under an existing structure, whereas I am going free-standing (out of necessity).

Best of luck,

Syd.

Hi Syd

Thanks for the info, the price doesnt seem too bad, I got a quote for $33.43 per square meter from Austral for the 75mm sheet. I only need about 30sqm to do the job because its against the house I only need to do 3 walls.

Hi Den

I found Austral to be the best price wise. I would also recomend if possible to go with new panels rather than second hand. I really didnt find much difference in price when you are looking at full panels. However as I used a mixture of second hand which I got free and new panels I found the time spent fussing around with the second hand panels trying to get the to fit together made the whole thing a lot more difficult than the ease with which the new panels just fitted together.

You also mentioned the 3 walls, what about the roof. This is where you will loose the majority of your heat.

Hi Tony

Im not sure about the roof yet, I have not decided on the material yet, still looking at the panels, but will also consider insulation bats and gibrock.

Cheers

You do realise you replied to a post that is 1 year old right?

The ice works is on the corner of welshpool rd and leach hwy.
If you are willing to travel a bit further, without an exact address, you can go to a portable building manufacturer on abernethy rd, between kalamunda rd and gt eastern hwy bypass who also sell them cheap
