whats the go with bidding on your own lots..........pushing them higher and higher i was bidding against a certain seller on his own items, effectively shill bidding me, got home and felt pretty deceived/pissed

I agree with you on that, but I guess it's the rules :/ I don't know exactly who you mean but I have an idea.

You should bid on an item according to what you are prepared to pay. If you go higher than you want then there's no one to blame but yourself. 

 

I get what you're saying though and ideally the person you referred to should set a reserve which pretty much guarantees the item won't be sold for less than they are willing to accept for it. However, if they choose to bid the prices up then that's their prerogative. It ends up costing them 10% if they win as opposed to setting a reserve.

edit:for 10 or 20$ im much happier to leave with the lots i want then see them pass and cry about it for a few months after

Spoke to a couple of PCS superstars before the auction as I got there mega early, and looks like I will be picking up a couple of tanks from these members. Will just have to organise stands, air pumps, and sponge filters and I will be up on the hunt for some cool fish to try and get breeding.
