It's been a long time since I've been on here. Shut down all tanks apart from My 200x75x75cm display tank from the shed, which I moved into the house last weekend (thanks Ollie for the lens of suction cups and trolley) and my 4x2x2.5 which is prodiminately used as a holding tank for my Umbee and female Ray, for the time being anyway. Loving having the big tank inside for the first time!

Starting to build the hood and cabinet tomorrow and still mucking around with the lighting. But happy with how it's coming along so far!

Quick video, not the best quality. Best I could do on an iPhone. Hopefully upload a better video when the lighting and hood are complete.

In the tank there is:
25%Leo Moto Male
WC Oscar
Coal Grunter
2x Peacock Bass Monoc
2x Red Terror Juvis
2x Driftwood Catfish
1x Raffael Cat
1x Spotted Raffael Cat
Gold Spot Plec
Big Male peppermint
L191 which is about 12cm at the moment.

In my 4x2x2.5 I have a 25cm Umbee and my female Motoro which I am looking to swap for another male and put in my display.

Built the hood and cladded the front and sides of the metal stand today. Used plywood painted black for the cladding with double sided Velcro tape for easy access to filter. Also added a couple of halides that I had lying around. Looking the goods now!

I might add a thin layer of Tahitian Moon Sand..... But I've become pretty accustom to bare bottom....

Filtration: FX6 plumbed to bulk heads. I may add a spare Eheim canister I have when I introduce my other Ray. But at the moment, the FX6 is taking the load easily.
Also running a 2000LPH OTTO which is hooked up to a 36W UV steriliser which I had running my whole shed setup.

looking the goods man, I heard mixed results wuth the Tahitian moon sand on rays, so just keep an eye on it.

the panaque is sh!t hot

Cheers. I'll take my camera home tonight and get some better photos and video.
Also going to pick up one more bass and grow them out as a trio. I've introduced big bass in the past and one always seems to become the bitch/runt of the pack.

I don't know about the moon sand yet Jules. I actually used pond sealer on the bottom, looked really god until it started to lift and bubble.... Obviously not mention for glass. Luckily it came off easily, in one piece.

Trial and error hey. im lucky my 3 get on sweet, smash each other equally, and spa all the time together, pretty funny.

go the white sand, contrast will be mint!

L191 are great fish. It is amazing how much say dust they can make. I hope you aren't too attached to any of your wood. 

 

I had one years ago that was 35cm used to shred wood down to nothing with time.

What happened to the big cigar sharks you used to have?

Sold them to a guy down south. They are now in a 10x4. They were way to active to be couped up in my tank.

Had a bit of an incident when I was over east at a tattoo convention and ended up loosing my Bass and Ornatus. Luckily everything else was fine! Hence the small bass and I'm going to grab another Pim from Vebas. Apparently they are only 8cm so he might not be going in there for a while.

Nice work on the Cigar sharks, I'm sure they'd be happy in a 10x4! Would have been a mission transporting those fish a long distance.

I knew him through my old boss's, he use to own a Barra farm up in Broome. So he had a massive tank on the back of his ute. Pretty sure he had a huge breeding pair of Mantilla in a massive fibreglass aquaponics tank with Viewing panel as well.
