If it helps when I go on holidays I get those a pile of those little clear coin bags or "Fiddy" bags as some may call them.
I then put the correct amount of food in a bag for each feed.
For whoever is feeding them, all I ask them to do is pour one bag in each tank twice a day, one in morning, one at night.
Makes is easier for non fish literate people :-)

I don't think she fed them enough so the fish survived by eating all the algae in the tank.

This will also show fish as temporarily washed out.

Just spend the two prior weeks before holiday conditioning them up with extra food (the professional maximum to the limit).
And if your able to (bit hard in the mid summer), bring temp down to 23'c to lower metabolisms,,, if doing the long no food duration.
