g'day alex
i've also have seen exceptional growth rate of the lungy , about 3cm since i got him , but i have'nt noticed any any white dots on the head as yet. they sorta hide but when it's food time they come out and are quite active. i've read a few articals on these guys and they say there slow growing but with this sort of growth rate he'll be a monster in no time . here 's a pic of him ( wife calls him 'tadpole')
cheer k

Hey
I know a guy that has a pair in QLD. His grew from 3" to 15" in just about 12months, but growth slowed after that size. Which is about right with everything else I have heard/read.
I also heard that one of the ones from midland that they had a couple years back has cracked the 2' mark! beautiful fish at that size! just as majestic as the arowana!

hey alex i was just talking to a bloke who tells me the white dots are common among all lungs and are sporeswithin the skin of the beasts, which im gathering he means responsive reseptors that would act like those of a shark or a second type lateral line

Yes, I thought that may be the case. These fish appear to have very poor vision. You can see when you feed them, they slightly stick their head up and open their mouths a bit and sort of sniff the water.
