Hey all, I was wondering what fish I could keep in my outdoor pond year round, other than goldies and koi(already got some of them ). I was hoping for a sailfin pleco, but I'm not sure if it could handle the lower temps in winter without serious heating. I would prefer fish that are compatible with goldies and koi, and not too huge either, probably around the same size as koi would be nice (50cm ish) I wouldn't want smaller fish for fear that they would become fish food or I just wouldn't see them. However, I am open to all suggestions Suggest away

Redfin perch... Just dont tell everyone.
Oooh Pearl cichlids look nice... where could I get some and how much would they set me back? And would they attack my goldies & koi or would they be alright with them?

Had a look around the forums but I wasn't sure of any spots. Anyone know if there are still any in the altone park golf lakes??? and can you just walk in there and get fishing? and still wondering of they are compatible with goldies & koi

Their temperament is pretty good for cichlids though. I dont have any first hand experience with geos/goldies together but the geos generally leave bigger fish alone. Maybe just a bit of opportunistic nipping occasionally. It would be definitely worth a go.
If they start breeding that might be different.
