if not then you will need a license and you will need to check wether you can fish there. also you can only you specific nets, best to check it out with your local fisheries, orr fork out $5 and get a couple and breed your own.
orrr go down at night with a torch and a net and your ninja skills;)

There is no season for yabbies. They are actually an introduced species, a pest if you will. There's no bag limit, no season and its actually illegal to release one into a natural waterway. Fisheries want you to catch as many as you can
The only thing you have to worry about is a) taking what you think is a yabbie and turns out its a marron or other small native crayfish or b ) trespassing and fishing someone's private dam.
