I'd ditch the limestone in favour of some driftwood. Can't really tell what substrate you have used but if it is Aragonite or something similar I'd get rid of that too. I would also paint the background. Hopefully you have made some attempt to cycle the tank /filters.

Don't really like drift wood that much, I rather limestone. I have just used the play sand that you can get from city farmers in Midland ( washed before I put it in the tank). Filter was already running before I put it on the tank

The suggestion to remove the limestone was more for water chemistry/PH reasons, not the look.

P Bass are soft water fish....

Plus in a tank that small, I wouldn't add more fish with the bass.

they are only 6-7cm, will be upgrading to a bigger tank when they need it, probably 7x2x2 or 8ftx2x2

I noticed that you edited your post to add "But please don't comment if your going to be negative" after I posted a few suggestions.

Not the greatest to ask people for opinions then become upset when they give you some constructive criticism.

Ronny is correct, I suggested ditching the limestone for some wood as wood will help keep your pH a little lower as apposed to limestone that will keep your pH a little higher than it would normally be. I personally don't like the look of it in tanks dominated by SA cichlids either, just doesn't look natural.

Painting the background will also help your decor and the colours in your fish stand out. Makes the tank much more appealing.

At the end of the day the old saying "you can't help someone, who doesn't want to help themselves" applies.

Best of luck.

thanks, am doing a test now, if it's too high, will have to change it to driftwood, I just don't like the way it changes the colour of the water, how do you stop this??

Presoak the wood until it has leached out all or the majority of the tannins. You could always add the wood and do a few more water changes than usual to help lower the 'yellowness' of the water. Also Seachem make a great product called Purigen, get a pouch of this stuff, it's great at polishing aquarium water.

The pH down stuff you get with test kits is useless. Invest in some acid buffer, just be careful as it's pretty concentrated stuff, so measure what you are using carefully. To answer your question, your limestone will buffer your pH back up after using the 'pH down product', as it will do after using acid buffer. Like I said, ditch the limestone.
