Hi guys,

anyone managed to breed the L202 successfully?

Been looking online and can not find much. I have 8 all full grown bit no luck yet.

Have given them all different sizes and shapes of caves, wood so far.

Cheers

Turn heat up and just before we get a storm or change in weather 50% water change I found they really liked rainwater.

Hi. Done that last storm. Maybe I got the wrong caves. I tried all different sizes and shapes. What caves have you used?

Thanks

I am led to believe most favoured are the proper slate caves mostly home made

I haven't tried that yet. Anyone here selling them?

Been also given some advice regarding the tank size and may need to reduce the numbers. Will try and see.

you dont find much info in regards to breeding them anymore..... as they arent worth much the professional breeders dont breed em anymore... they breed just the same as most other similar sized plecs... not rocket science....

It happened. I have been changing and testing different things in the tank in hope they will breed.

Today as I cleaned the tank I found heaps of tiny (not quite developed) L202s. However none of them were alive and were scattered all over the tank. The male must have kicked them out. Who knows. Bit sad but happy at the same time that they went 4 it.

Hopefully they spawn again and do it right this time.

nice... generally 6 weeks between spawns with the same female but can be speeded up feeding certain foods but thats really for the pros so i'd keep doing what your doing and now they have had an initial spawn it gets a little easier.... first spawns are quite often duds as they dont know what they are doing yet... i had about 6 vampire spawns before they got it right.... so be patient and you'll eventually see success.... now that your all excited i bet your happy you didnt sell them all :)

Found two caves turned and moved by the L202s. Hopefully a good sign.
