Hey all,

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this topic but anyways.

I'm in year twelve at high school and for our last project in a wood work class we have a free choice.

I actually want to build a 8" aquarium stand and hood out of jarrah (because we have no cost limit and i cant afford the wood).

I'm looking for anyone that has plans for tank stands, hoods or anything similar so I can compile a few ideas into a killer tank.

The only dimensions i am worried about are that I wood like 6" and 8" in length, the other dimensions I am not worried as they

can change.

if anyone has plans or ideas please let me know ASAP!!

Cheers Az

An 8 inch (8") tank will not be very big to make a stand for, better of sitting on a desk top. If it is a 8 Ft tank (8') then I think it is better to stay away from this. A stand for a tank that size would be better off made from metal. Can support a lot more weight and less likely to crack the tank due to any variance in measurements. If you do want to build one from wood stick with a 3' or 4' tank.

thanks mate i was considering the idea of having a metal stand but overlaying it with a jarrah finish

so that it looks like a fully jarrah stand accept for the back!

i did mean 8' (my bad)

thanks for the imput mate

anyone else?
