Thought we could share some pictures of our american cichlid tanks on this dedicated thread.

I just bought some 3-4cm GT's from autolink at the auction so they are pretty plan but i love them already as they are aggressive eaters already!

- 2 x Red Terror - (male & female)

- 1 x Jack Dempsey male

- 1 x Red devil female

- 3 oscars - 2 normal males - 1 veil tail/long fin female

Are the Uaru breeding? 

 

I am keeping the following:

They show funny signs of spawning, and there eye colouration has changed, as an indicator of breeding activity however in a busy tank im sure that disturbs them.

Soon to be moved on though, unfortuneatley.

Currently I have,

x8 red bay snooks
x2 bocourtis
x3 chocolate cichlids
x2 green terrors
x1 marble fenestratus
x2 flowerhorns
x1 geo brazil
x5 peacock bass

Love Americans I find them very interesting and watching their colours get better as they grow bigger. I have had all these fish since they have been about 5cm and they are between 10-15cm now but the marble vieja is almost cracking 25cm. Can't wait to pay off the rest of my car loan (very soon!) so I can finally get back on track with fish things, looking to get a few more bigger tanks in the next few months to house these bad boys when they get bigger and start growing up some new American fry :)

This guy is one of my favs. He is about 27cm now Head to tail.

They are evil Jules. Nothing can go with them. They killed my three Snooks. Males were around 40cm to.

Dovii has grown heaps since I was at your place Sam, looking good. Nice blues coming through.

The female beats him. She is an agro little beast. They look like spawning but no eggs yet.
