Scientific Name: Aulonocara jacobfreibergi
Pronunciation: A-loo-no-car-a jacob-free-bergi
Trade Name(s): Jakes, Jacobs Peacock, Firebird
Distribution: Lake-wide distribution
Habitat: Rocky areas with plenty of caves for the males to defend.
Diet: Snails & other Invertebrates
Sexing: There is many different variations of the Jake's, they come in many different colors. Females are usually silver with brown barring.
Maximum Size: 17cm
Temperature: 24 to 26c
pH: 7.5 to 9.0
Water Hardness: 300-400ppm
Availability: One of the Peacocks that are very common in Oz due to their stunning color. Beware of Hybrids. Only purchase from trustworthy sources.
