Scientific Name: Aulonocara maylandi
Pronunciation: A-loo-no-car-a may-land-e
Trade Name(s): Sulfur Crest Peacock
Distribution: Chimwalani Reef & Luwala Reef
Habitat: Submerged Reefs
Diet: Snails & other Invertebrates
Sexing: Males are very similar to Aulonocara kandeense except they have a bright yellow crest that runs the full length of the body from the nose to the tail.
Females have a silver body.
Maximum Size: 12cm
Temperature: 24 to 26c
pH: 7.5 to 9.0
Water Hardness: 300-400ppm
Availability: Available in Oz. They make for a beautiful display fish, I prefer Aulonocara kandeense.
