Sexing: Males are blue with black stripes running the length of the body
Females are yellow with the same black stripes.

Temperature: 24 to 26c
pH: 7.5 to 9.0
Water Hardness: 300-400ppm
Availability: Not overly common in Oz.
Comments: One of the largest Melanochromis & very similar in pattern to Melanochromis parallelus & Melanochromis hetrochromis
