i do what i got told when i was younger "do a good deed a day" whitch i try to do everyday and you do get a good feeling from it even if its just putting your cigarette butt in the bin but thats just my opinion smile.gif

Hmmmm -- It's great you put your butts in the bin, but that's just normal behaviour imo cool.gif
A good deed would be to put someone else's butt in the bin smile.gif cigarette butt that is.

The trick is to spend time feeling the positive when it happens. We tend to accept positive as 'normal' and dwell on the negative.
I have always worked the good old general public and most people are ok or better. But it's easy to let one negative person ruin the day.

The tetras have their individual personalities too even within the same species.

I put a betta in with my tetras and he was bullied. One of the rummynose was the main culprit. I knew it was the same one because he had a black spot on his flank.

"In each canister is a bottom layer of ceramic noodles then some black lining stuff then I have the filter wool.
"

Just wanted to check that the "black lining stuff" isn't carbon.
If it is it needs to be taken out or changed very regularly.

Hope all was well when you got back from Perth, Kylie.

It depends on the temperament of your betta. One of my betta won't allow anything living in his 18L tank, not even snails.

If you do add other fish, make sure you quarantine them first, a sick betta is a very sad thing.

Remember, if you add another fish to a small tank (I'm imagining one of those 1L pots they sell in the pet shops) you will need to change the water a lot more often.
