The tank is coming along nicely. what have you used to tie the riccia to? If you need any more baby tears let me know I have some to trim in this coming week.
Cheers
Mike.

pearling is when the plants use the co2 and light to make oxygen, which appears on their leaves.
I think Graeme, duck or Mike may be able to put it in better words though :?

Pearling generally happens when you are adding co2 and using a decent amount of light, it is when the plants produce so much oxygen the water becomes saturated with it thus bubbles of oxygen forming on/under leaves,
Thanks

Tony (FishAntics) - It seems i have found an aquarium that i can enjoy. atlast. Thanks for pointing out that i need to find a tank that is "me." Well, today i can say that i have!
Trimmed the tank yesterday so its a bit bare along the back of the tank.
Glosso is coming along very nicely, and i really like the stellatus
The BOC co2 is great!
I have lost 2 of the harlequins due to the open top tank
I have realised why my fertz seem to be making no difference... The foam filter pad was filled with carbon lol...
The riccia has atleast tripled in size i swear! Check the previous pics and see what you reckon!
Here's some pics -
Riccia - Pearling much?
Finally making some progress
Cheers,[/u]

I thought i'd post up a 'journal' of setting up the new tank.
Information:
Tank - 18x10x12" (35L/9G)
Filtration - Jebo 501 Hang on Filter
Co2 - Nutrafin Natural system
Lighting - 2x 36W tubes, aqua sun compact reflector
Substrate - Laterite, Garnet sand, Red sea Flora base, 2-3mm brown gravel: in that order.
Heater - Vitapet 50W heater
Ferts - Seachem Flourish liquid and seachem flourish root tabs
Flora - Glosso, pearl grass, rotala, anubias, swords and java fern. Still
thinking about what plants i will use...
Fish - Most likely some neons and maybe a pair of rams.
Im wondering if i should go for driftwood or rocks, please give me your opinions
I think thats pretty much everything
Im still waiting on most of the stuff to arrive from ASA over the easter break, so i will post up stacks more photos then.
Heres The pics so far... The tank has some water marks that dont want to come off but when the water is in the tank, you can barely see them
Close up of the laterite (bottom) and Garnet sand (top)
side View
Front view. The little black things are the flourish tabs for root growth or something lol.
Sorry about my crappy photography skills!

Ill bring some to the June meeting.
My tank seems to be lacking some of the macro nutrients so i may need to invest in some new fertz (any ideas which ones i should get guys)
