Yes you could do that as well, anything really as long as it pushes the water threw. They say the slower the better for more exposure time of UV on the nasties.

I run 2 x 18 watt UV off both of my canisters, ones a Eheim pro 2 2028 and the others a Eheim pro 3 2080. The UV's are just run in line on the out flow back into the tank. If your worried about flow lose you could T join it with a tap added to control the diverted water to the UV but i think it will be fine just run in line. Steve

Get a UV light and attach it to the outlet hose on your canister. This will prevent it happening again but all you can do now is raise the temp and treat with a white spot treatment and hope for the best. If you want to keep clowns i highly recommend a UV, since i've used one i have not had an outbreak in 10 yrs.

Mine is a different brand (aquarium pharmaceuticals master test kit) and the ammonia colour card reads clear for 0, very weak yellow = .5 to 1, yellow colour = 2 to 3, dark yellow = 4 to 5, thru to very dark yellow for 6 to 7 reading which = dead fish.

Here is how you can free up the bottom and still keep a lot of the rock work. Get yourself some milk crates, cut out all the guts on all sides but not the top, leaving the main frame. Put your rock work on the top and around the main frame to hide the milk crate, this will allow the ray to swim under the entire structure and it will improve water circulation around the rock structure reducing dead spots. Good luck and i love the ray.cheers Steve
