I have a nice display 4x2x2.5ft high aquarium for sale. Comes with an aqua one light, with all brand new lids

Beautiful fish and a regretful sale, but he's just to aggressive and now needs a tank of his own. Could possibly be kept with some larger schooling fish, tin foil barbs etc, but won't mix well with other large Americans.

At the end of the day have a go mate, you get the right silicon + decent glass + some common sense, you'll have a tank that you built that will last ages. I'm all for DIY!!

I'm all for DIY as well Riggers, especially when it comes to filtration. But when its 1000ltrs plus. I'd definitely be getting it professionally made. I'm sure it would just crack at the base and loose a shit ton of water everywhere, no one injured. But your still going to loose all your fish. There's no trial and error when that comes to that scenario, one morning you've got a full tank, later that arvo you've got an empty one. I'm talking from experience as well. It's a sickening feeling.

Surely getting a proffesionally built 6x3x2 isn't going to be very expensive anyway??

Dunno why you'd bother building it yourself. You spend a little extra money for peace of mind. I don't know what sort of fish you keep, but there would be no way I'd trust a home built tank for my collection.

I'm about to happily spend $5000 on a new tank, expensive huh.... Not really compared to coming home to thousands of dollars worth of fish on the floor.

I went to this Crackwh&@$s house when she had this advertised as a Hemibargurs Wyckii for $100. Got to her squalor of a hoarders house and it was a freaking black shark!!!

Little to say I was pissed off after driving from my mates house in Rolleystone where I had stayed the previous night.
