Love the sand addition to the bottom :D Add some ghost shrimp to keep the algae at bay if it's a problem.

Fabulous

Thanks guys.  the colours of the discus are coming out more and wild discus are so much more colourful...I can't add shrimp as I use Kusuri wormer every month and that kills snails and shrimp.  But I do have a massive uv .

thanks again for the comments and the advice really apprecaite it.

Loving the Sand addition. What made you move to it?

hey mate,

I went back to the sand due to the fish not colouring up to there full colours.   So what a differnce it has made and also reduced the peppering on the pigeon based discus.  I used washed play sand from bunnings at $7.50 per 20 kg bag.

Very interesting. Personally I don't like bare tanks anyway, but it is very interestinging that having a sand/substrate base would help promote colouring in fish.

looks awesome! Leif its not just the substrate but the background/plants has the same effect on discus.

Thanks for all the comments guys.  Had some blue cobalts spawn last night in the tank and on the other side the red eagle too.  love it but they will be eaten very soon.

You have a 10mb limit in your image gallery folder (you can find it in your profile). Basically you will need to delete old photos to make room in it to post others.

Maybe admin can up our limits? I am sure the server can hold more photos?
