When I got the tank it was normal brown gravel with limestone piled up. This is how I bought it and kept it for a number of months.
Then I removed a lot of the limestone, placed a shipwreck in there(for the girlfriends happiness)
Then I added plants.

And then I decided it was a little to normal for my liking. So I wanted to mix it up a little and do something I haven't seen before
So I bought some slate, black pebbles in two sizes and a few bags of basalt.

After this I thought I want more caves and places for fish to hide if need be, so that I could have smaller fish in the tank. And I want that ship out. So I got some granite and built it along the back wall.

Now obviously this tank isn't to everyone's liking. But I think it's great and hopefully some people agree.
Hopefully all the pics come through how I'm hoping. Cheers for having a look

Nice Man I Like The Blue Lights Over The Black Rocks/Substrate
I Kept Oscars Over Pebble Rocks For 2 Yrs And Never Had A Problem If Anything Gravel Vac Was Easier Due To Larger Crevices And The Waste Easily Flowing Up And Out

Looks good mate! Love the Slate Rock. Where did you buy it from? And how much would it set you back?
Cheers
