I bought 13 rummy-noses on Thursday, all settled in really well with bright red noses. Yesterday I noticed that the smallest one was hanging out near the bottom and would only school with them every now and then. He seemed to be getting chased a little, but there was no attacking while I was watching so I thought they were just playing. Throughout the night he seemed to get quieter and I noticed his tail was half the size of the others and I thought he was definitely on his way to fishy heaven. He was still alive this morning, but I noticed his tail had pretty much disappeared, and then during the day it completely fell off. I've got him isolated at the moment in my net (I shall buy a breeding trap tomorrow) and he seems to swim around a bit, but I haven't seen him eat and his tail is just a stump.
Is there anything I can do for him or should I euthanize him?
Thanks in advance

??
Are you using water conditioner?
Try cutting back your feeding to once every two days & maybe add a airstone in. Days are getting quiet hot & might have a little part to play in the health of your fish.
Maybe someone with more experience has another suggestion
Best of luck hon!

sounds like a weaker individual that has been picked on by the others, particularly the danios - if it is not infected, it will heal if it gets some food and is left alone... but the fact it is a weaker individual to start with, I doubt it will win this battle easily

Woops I don't know how I left that whole section out!
I bought a breeding trap yesterday and tried feeding him but unfortunately he didn't eat a thing and he passed away this morning. RIP Runt
