A few months ago a member came to our home to buy fish and plants, a few days later Terry noticed that a rare plant had gone missing. We eventually got around to checking video footage and found that while Terry went inside to get rubber bands the plant was removed from its tank. The 15 sec video is very clear and shows the person stealing the plant, lots of you know him.

 

I will post the video on here and on you tube if the plant is not returned or paid for.

i think people should know who this is whether they return it or pay for it or not, i know i sure as hell dont want this person in my house, light fingers deserve to be removed !!!

Myself also, I may not have as much high priced things as alot of the other fish breeders but even the small ticket items cost money. And I don't have any video footage.

go to the police with the video there is another forum member who has been caught stealing from the aquairam  shop he was working at and has now been caught again stealing from the new roller skating rink in malaga

this is not good enough these ass clowns need to charged i dont care how minor the theft is

Very sad! Not everyone has cameras, so I can only imagine how many times he/she has gone unnoticed doing this act.

I dont think the police will be any good in this situation, as you waited some time after it happened, plus you invited them into your house, and it was also just a plant, even if rare, i doubt they will bother.

I agree with dbolxo, it's highly unlikely the police would follow it up as even if they were caught with the plant in their possession it is hard to prove its yours. When I reported my partners scooter missing we saw the scooter being ridden around and followed them to their house and informed police, nothing happened for 2 months when the house was raided on totally different charges that the police returned the scooter and didn't even charge them with the theft. Not that it's exactly the same but low priority for them all the same

Yeah i work at a pet shop and we have literally had a group of people come in and steal a large fish tank during hours! Got caught on camera aswell, even at a commercial shop the police wouldnt do anything, though insurance payed for it. We have also had people sneak into the staff room and steal money, looking directly at the camera on the way out....

I have one time people come to my house buy some plant , I just go to the room talk to my friend around 2 or 3 min . When I see him later, he already took 2 bags of plant out my tank. Said he will pay for it . But I tell him to get out my house. I have lots of plant tanks so if some plant missing hard to tell but if that many goes missing of course I noticed!
So be careful dont leave customers unattended if you don't know them.
