Well spoke words but our former Prime Minister Howard said almost the same words and was acting on them but now that we have a Socialist Government it is not part of their policy...
I have to agree with this view..........

Hats off to Monsieur Fillon!!!

Prime Minister of France

For once, a French politician has the courage to say out loud what the French think and sometimes cry out about

Interesting approach…
Learning to live in peace and harmony …

Muslims who want to live under the law of the “Islamic Sharia” have recently been told to leave France in order to guard against possible terrorist attacks, the government has targeted radicals.

Apparently, the Prime Minister, Francois Fillon has angered some French Muslims in stating:

THOSE IMMIGRANTS, WHO ARE NOT FRENCH MUST ADAPT.

Take it or leave it, I’m tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture.

Our culture has developed with struggles and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom.

Our official language is French, not Spanish, or Lebanese, or Arabic, or Chinese, or Japanese, or any other language. Therefore, if you want to be part of our society, learn the language!

Most French people believe in God. This is not some Christian obligation, influence by the rightists or political pressure, but it is a fact, because men and women founded this nation on Christian principles, and this is clearly documented.

It is then appropriate to display this on the walls of our schools’ … if God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your home, because

God is part of our culture.

We will accept your beliefs without question.

All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in peaceful harmony with us.

This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, AND OUR LIFESTYLE.

And we offer you the opportunity to enjoy all this.

But if you’re tired of our flag, our commitment, our Christian beliefs, or our lifestyle, I strongly encourage you to take advantage of another great French freedom, THE RIGHT TO LEAVE.

If you are not happy here then LEAVE.

We did not force you to come here.

You asked to be here.

So accept the country YOU chose.

(Perhaps if we circulate this email to the world’s citizens we may find a way to stand up and spread the same truths)

Well said…Mr Fillon!

I don't know what age has to do with it, its just the truth, and the truth should be spoken more often. I think France may be the leader in ethnocentricity in Europe, as Pauline Hanson was here as she put Australia first regardless of race breed or color or country of origin. IF migrants who come really don't want to fit into Australian way of life, they should leave, and I am not just speaking about Muslim people, all nationalities. And before you jump on a bandwagon or 'racism', I suggest you look up the word and what it means...
I agree Col.

I don't understand some comment, if you don't like your job you leave, if many don't get on with their wife or husband they get a divorce, why is it wrong to suggest people leave if they don't like living here. Why is it that people come here and want to change the aussie culture. When i came here I had to accept that there is a love hate relationship with the poms, I didn't come and try and change the aussie way of life it is the best in the world, why change. It is the sad fact that other countries and people don't like the freedom we have, and that aussies have and are giving their lives in its pursuit.
Why is it so hard to say, if you don't like to live here don't come...if you don't like our way of life, leave.
Why?

I have to agree with you Dave.
Pitty that Australia does not have the balls to let the rest of the world know it.

who are you to decide what the australian way of life is? perhaps its changing, and that scares you. its not your fault, your just a product of your time ...

the only true australians are the Aborigines. unless you speak Aboriginal, and are part of theiur culture, saying stuff like this makes you look like just another a racist white person.

Don't crap on about the aborigines that is getting very old.
Australian born people have just as many rights as they do.
Why should Australians who were born here have to be put second behind ignorant immigrants who think they have the right to come and try to change our way of life.
Do you think my kids should have the right to learn at the same schools i went to??......well they don't because that public school is now only used to help foreigners to learn there own countries way of life.
Do you think my kids should have the right to celebrate Christmas at there school with there school mates??....well they don't because it might upset the Muslims.
Do you think a class of grade 2's should have to start to learn African language because there race is getting larger and larger in Australia ????... well that's what they are doing.
When i got to the servo and have to remove my helmet to pay for fuel for safety concerns but the Muslim lady screams bloody murder when asked to remove her head gear do you think that is fair that she is aloud to leave it on?

If you think im a racist for standing up against this and believing that Australia is a place for Australians and people that want to come here and be Australian then fine i will gladly accept the label of a racist.

This to me shows not only your ignorance but also your limited understand of history and of Australia. If you want to go back to the 'so called' owners of Australia, why not go back to the mongul or the tribes in the antartic or even Malaysia, because if you have any knowledge you may start and begin to understand, where do Aboriginasl come from. The word 'aborignial' 'ab' French for meaning before the orginal with its obvious meaning does not mean there wasn't people before them who they wipped out. The word was given because they were before the Europeans developed here.
Australia changing doesn't scare me, people like you do, with an ignorant attitude to the word racist.
As i said previously you need to 'look up your words' because obviously you do not understand them, and choose wisely who you call a racist. To be a 'racist' is to put another culture or nation down as a country or people making them not equal to me or us as a nation, that is racism. To speak the truth and ask questions is not being a racist.
Obviously you and many like you are the very ones who are destroying our culture by it being imposed on by another and you think its ok, well that is your opinion and you are very welcome to it, and if you think that is the way to be 'accepting' in a world gone bonkers by people trying accept all nations into one; it won't work.
That will do for now more to come I am sure.

what would happen if we all wore baliclavers to the banks , or even a muslim comminity, we'd be shot! thats what. yet our government seems to have a seperate set of rules for those from affar . at the risk of sounding like pauline hanson-''one nation" ie- same rules for everyone black, white, cristion or muslim , sounds like a good idea to me . but it will never happen b-coz the minorities will always cry ''unfair'' wherever they are asked to fit in.

what you all dont understand, is that your perception of "what it means to be australian" is just the white middle class perception of such a thing. eventually you will be in such a tiny minority, that your opinion wont really matter anyway!! so enjoy your ignorant views on the world while you still can ladies wink.gif

Grow up ... stop thinking that ya crap don't stink and that you are more knowledgeable than everyone else.
Funny how it was the white middle class that made this country what it was today and gave you all the freedoms that people like you really don't deserve.

i agree, i dont think its racist to say to someone that if you dont like it go somewhere else, some other races/ethnicities think its alrite to push how they live on us i dont tell them not to do there own thing but i dont think they have the right to change our country
if your own country is that bad you had to leave to live in ours why change our way of living to the way theyre country was.
i rmember when i was at school and they had to change the school newsletters (holiday time) from merry christmas to seasons greetings becuase some other people got offended
if we had gone to another country and said we dont want the koran around becasue we find it offensive we would be put in jail

im not racist i dont care what race or religion you are but dont change us

^^^^ this is what someone who thinks they are more knowegable than the person they are talking to sounds like, imo!

really i think you should grow up, these people often come from countries being destroyed by war, where millions of children stave to death everyday, where rape, murder and AIDS are not just something you read about while sipping your morning coffee, but a harsh everyday reality, and so they want a better life for themselves and their children... leave everything they have ever known to come to a strange new country... and then "people like you" have the nerve to try and push your privelaged views of 'how things should be' down their throat...

if you ask me these brave souls are far more Australian than people whose biggest problem is their kids cant go to the same school as they did (really.. wtf that is the wierdest thing i have heard in a long time)... try living in a county where your lucky if your kids survive let along get any sort of education!! or that you have to take off your helmet to pay for your fuel... well dry your eyes princess those are not really problems that are even worth a mention in the grand scheme of things!!! i think some people have been living the good life for too long and dont appreciate how lucky we really are!

tranced, I am not sure if that is your name, psudo, or just your reality.
You sound as it you should run the country with your wet eyes and sorry inuendo.
Everywhere you go where there are problems look at what cause it, look at the middle east!!!
Look I really don't want to give you a history lesson as such, but you are so wet behind the ears. I will let you dream on.
When you eventually come out of your trance, it will be to late for you and many others...

I have seen first hand the hate and fear between people supposed to be the same race, countrymen. At the end of the day We are all human and it is human nature to hate and fear anything different to what we are used to or dont understand. It is our nature to band together in groups similar looking and with similar beliefs in order to belong to something. We develop our own ideals, develop our own religions and customs based on our experiences through the ages.
We will find an excuse to hate, we will turn to extremism to justify our cause, we will always look to what is different. Having said that people are capable of acts of extreme kindness and compassion.

Can we have just one thread where people of different opinions don't attack each other?
Pull your heads in.
Thanks.
