Guy's a human being. Just as long as he doesn't get privileges that the rest would not; which it seems he does.

thats not true at all kleinz.
if u had any idea of what happens when in court u probably wouldnt say that hes treated any different..
the Australian court system does not throw everyone in jail..even if its a mandatory sentence, trust me i talk from experience.
the courts actually want people to get better.. do u have any idea how much it costs the gov per inmate.. ?
courts actually want people rehabilitated instead of going to crime school (jail) and getting more contacts and dodgier scams.
if the person is willing enough or smart enough there is a way out.. but not always depending on judges, lawyers, remorse from person, and also crimes comitted..
Ben cousins is probably out on cat 2 bail. big $$$ and different conditions to initial bail terms. and given the fact that he hasnt evaided bail conditions and is unlikely to be able to run away because of the media hounding him.
Reallity is he will however have consequences for hes actions wether that be legal, mental or spiritual
truth is he needs help and he may or may not be in the mental state to accept it..
drug and alcohol addicton is incredibly difficult, and not everyone is willing or capable, but fundamentaly leads to jails institutions and death..

That's totally true Spendy but for the average Joe Blow who has had no experience or exposure to the legal or court system all you can go on is what is presented on the news, first story, drug dealer gets 20 years and all possessions confiscated, second story, Benny out and about on bail after another drug related charge....

What the media presents is all that some people base there opinions on, I'll admit it looks like he's getting an easier ride than some may do but what the media puts forward and what the truth is, are often 2 different things......

And then there's the other side of it that Kleinz just like stirring biggrin.gif you naughty little troll smile.gif

I am indeed a naughty troll, but it is not without purpose.

Cousins has never taken any of this seriously, and manages to skate above any sense of responsibility. Booze bus? Run away and hide! Load of pills in the car? hire a QC and fuggeddaboutit! Too much scrutiny in Oz? Head to Vegas for more whores and coke! Coke binge gone wrong? Call 911 and cry! AFL going to finally do drug testing? Shave all the hair off my body so I can't be tested! Off to rehab? Take an assload of meth for me and my mates! On bail for assload of meth? take assload of pot for the stress!

When is this rich, spoilt, man-boy going to grow up and own something he has done?

I don't think for a minute he belongs in jail, but he doesn't think for a minute that the rules might apply to him , too. For the rules to work and be in any way respected, they have to be seen to work for everyone.

$800. Not bad.

So mysteriously, it's just a possession charge now. I think the lesson here is clear: when you are in the poo, hire a Tudori.
