I must have an aura that just makes snakes want to bite me dead lol.

Happy to face my fears someday but I'd much prefer to handle a hatchling, having a big python wrapped around me is not my cup of tea.

Hatchlings are usually far more bitey.

gotta love reptiles! yes they bite and hiss and intimidate you but are the most fascinating and interesting animals.

my baby black headed python after its shed last week. and my new vivariums custom made from a cabinet maker (super happy with them) top is 6x2x2 and bottom ones are 3x2x4 tall. now I have my pair of black heads, and pair of sw carpet pythons, just need some water pythons, then down the line the rough scale pythons lol.

Nice a Retic would be an absolute dream! Would need to be a very experienced keeper to attempt to keep one.

I couldn't picture them being to hard to keep, maybe al ittle more aggressive, I like a lot of the boa species, emerald, tree, etc etc

It is an animal that is more than capable of killing a grown man. An adult Retic Python would be difficult to care for in my opinion for a number of reason; the sheer size would mean absolutely everything is upscaled; food items, enclosure size and heating requirements. It probably isn't going to be 'specialised equipment' more so industrial size. Handling should never be undertaken by yourself, would always want at least one extra person with you when handling the snake, perferably someone else who is experienced at reptile handling.

The logistics would be insane. Imagine if your animal got sick, you can't just place it in a standard snake bag and take it down to the vet.

A good bite from a 20' + Python would also be a trip to the hospital. I'd rather be bitten by a Great Dane than a 20 foot Python.

My old man reckons it takes 4 people to hold him properly.

me too i have a great dane and her bite would be nothing on a snake bite let alone a retic - i reckon you would have less than a minute to get it off you before its lights out and you would need at least 4 or 5 guys to yank it off

Wicked snake Jules, that's probs the nicest BHP I have seen... If I get a snake some day I would definitely get a BHP or a woma.

I'll probably start keeping lizards though before I buy a snake...
