Hi
I'm just recently back into the fish addiction (and loving every minute of it) after a few years break as my tank had been in storage due to some Dragon lady I call my X, sorry I won't go on about that. My mate put me on to this site and I just want to say hello and share my experience with keeping African cichlids with anyone who is willing to read them. I've set my tank up in my kitchen, it's had a few malawi in it for just under a week now. Though I'm worried that the placing of the tank in the kitchen will stress the fish because the light in the room may be on or off irregularly. Am I just being paranoid or do I have to look at trying to move this thing.
Thanks for your time

if anything it could simulate lighting which may put them in breeding mode, and if you find it does stress them just add some caves and or a light that you can time the light properly :)

Awesome, thanks for the advice I'll b watching their behaviour and doing as many water changes as I possibly can. Appart from getting good sex ratios any thing else I can do to encourage breeding?

A nice little dark and intimate rendezvous for Mr & Mrs Cichlid to do their thing...

A limestone cave perhaps?

Yeah I figured it was you mate, from the name and the location. Spoke to Clayton this morning, and he mentioned that he put you onto the PCS.

I had just forgotten about losing to Hank in the GF... thanks for reminding me. Was painful to say the least. Ryan griffen goes on the never again list, cost me the game.
