My thought would be it is fine as long as no smell when starting up.
I have shut a canister down for 4 or 5 days and that did have a rotten egg smell on restarting. Well and truly gone anaerobic. Cleaned out filter.
In the reading I've seen the bacteria will survive for weeks if not months without food. The lack of oxygen would be more of a concern.

just be careful when you restart the canister put a bucket under the outlet as it blow out all the loose shi... in the pipes etc plus you can have a smell of it

yeah what dicky said
brown crud in the pipes can blow in to the tank and wouldn't be too good for the health of your tank, not to mention the look
I had a canisted filter unplugged for a few days once, and when I plugged it back in (didn't realise) it blew all the muck in to the tank. Tank looked pretty ordinary for a day. I'm glad the tank didn't have many fish in it, as well as running a second canister filter on the tank which was already seeded

I'll see if I get a chance to do a nitrite test tonight. Probably too late but I did clean one canister (of two) on Friday night and it didn't get switched back on until Saturday arvo. Ammonia Sunday night was 0 (as was tap for comparison).
