Just by looking at those pictures you can tell how it got so bad. why people have houses surrounded by bush is beyond me...

i was talking to someone whos sister bought a house somewhere like this... but the goverment only would give her permission to clear a very very small protion of the land she had bought where they are going to build... some environmental care crap

yes thats sorta true... you have a designated building envelope... apart from that you can only take trees down that are D,D or D.... dead diseased or dangerous....

 

once you live among the trees you'll know why people live up here :)

I'd rather be surrounded by bush than be able to jump from my roof onto the neighbours like you can down the hill.

It was a pretty nasty fire, we had to evac during it and it was days before we were allowed back in. Killed my new mosses and baby ferns in their jars and nearly killed the loaches I had to leave in the tank :(
