(madasa)
Interesting Tim but I'll stick to the conditioner. I wouldnt trust the chlorine concentration to be constant or for them to add chloramine without telling anyone.

Re the dilution of a relatively small amount into a large tank at waterchange also cuts no ice with me as over time there would be accumulation.

As Cobber said - why wouldnt you use it?

Madasa,

There wouldn't be accumulation because chlorine evaporates from the water as it ages (and as Cawdor highlighted, it starts straight away).
My "poor practice" as you put it, just means that I'm not paranoid enough to believe that the water corp is putting things in our water that they're not supposed to! laugh.gif There are a lot of products on the market for people who are worried about Ph, salts, temperature, chlorine etc.. but I have managed to survive without a lot of them.

If it's good enough for Ad Konings, it's good enough for me... or do you disagree with him?

Hi Wacker

My accumulatio statement referred to chloramine and not chlorine. Also, i did not highlight your as bad practice but moreso as bad advice for newbies.

Ad Konnings can be wrong too.

Please dont think I was gertting at you or that I was slandering your abilities - my wording perhaps was not as it might have been.

Its all good.

Pete

You're right mate, it's all good... each to their own opinion..

If fish are doing well that's the most important thing
