Hi cichlidnut,

Good to know that you're not a TOTAL nut, and that you show interest in something other than cichlids.

To answer your question, I will have a few available when the weather warms up. They are currently in an outdoors pond (they have tremendous temperature tolerance), but can't be netted while the water is really cold, as they tend to just roll over and die under any further stress when chilled.

The scientific name of this fish is Pseudomugil mellis, and it is native to the eastern seaboard from approximately mid NSW to northern QLD.

Due to degradation of it's environment, it has disappeared from much of it's normal range, and is listed as a threatened species (so cannot be legally collected from the wild).

Unfortunately P. mellis is not a good aquarium fish, but thrives in suitable pondage.

Regards, Syd.
