LOL!  Complains about the photo comp and how it's run.

Doesn't even take the time to read the comp rules :welldone:

There is no such thing. Don't expect us to read club membership benefits to find out that.

Doesn't say in the OP post, or here which is supposed to be the comp rules  http://www.perthcich...=0

Right back at ya

He's right it only states that club
Members get to vote

Judging will take place five days before the end of the month and which point entries will close. All photos will be available to Club Members Only to anonymously vote on a poll.

Doesn't say that only club members can submit photos lol

Yes you are right, apologies.  I'm not surprised it doesn't say that considering who's running it and how well it has been running lol.

However, every other comp the PCS has had, has been for Club Members only and it states that in every other competition.

The thread for this year does say, "This Photocomp is being run to give back to the financial members who support us." which does indicate it's for the club members.

Imagine all the non PCS members all these years who submitted their photos not knowing that they were out of the comp even before voting.

I realise now that this comp is now both unfair and discrimination disguised as a technical error.

They would have been told when they tried to enter.
It is simply a small error in the announcement.

Why should the club let you enter competitions to win club prizes when you don't support the club?

This is the first year the photo comp announcement didn't say that it is only for club members so there wouldn't have been any and if there were, they would have been told.

Unfair?  How is it unfair?  The comp is run for financial members who pay money to support the club. Unfair would be letting anyone enter and win prizes even though they don't support the club while others do.

At the end of the day, if you're not a Club Member, you can't enter a photo, if you want to enter a photo, become a club member.  Simple.

I didn't know photo comps were so serious :P
I'm more interested in seeing what other photos people have! As it shows that they have such a passion for keeping fish :)
Doesn't matter whether it is an amazing macro shot that is perfect or an iPhone photo (they are good as well)
It's just to show what we have and to have fun...

I have sent my entries a few days ago and I haven't been told anything.

I joined the forum and support the forum. This is the forum right? I am not in need of the "club" and don't feel like I have to use material such as money just to show that I am a supporter. If the photo comp is club exclusive, make it invisible to normal members so we do not get confused like this and feel discriminated against.

The forum is run by the club.

The club competitions are held on the forum.

It is made visible to all members so people can check out the photos and see an advantage of joining up.

You participate on the forum.

You do not support the forum.

I am sure the error will be corrected in future announcements.

Thank you for making us aware of it.
