This month's topic:

Tankbusters & Oddballs

Simply take your photo, upload it to your photo hosting website and submit it (Via PM) to me or any other committee member.

Your photo will then be posted on a separate thread (Within 2 days) which will be locked from discussion until voting is closed.

Also, entries can now be submitted by email to the following address Photocomp@Perthcichlid.com.au

Just let me know via PM you have submitted  your photo via email.

You will automatically earn points towards the grand prize just by entering.

Remember:

Submitted Photos Required to be:

  • Water mark free, anonymous and include a title and species name of the fish.
  • Relatively unedited e.g. (Minor Adjustments OK (white balance/ sharpen) , but heavily edited for example removing blemishes and stripes on a fish are subject to disqualification)

Or you can attach it to me in a PM (This will use up your forum upload allowance)

If you own an oddball or a TB, you will know it.If you have to ask, then it probably isnt.

I obviously don't own nor think I own an oddball, I just want to know what classifies a fish as an oddball?

Strangeness! The more strangeness the better... Some strange fish that would be classified as oddballs: BGK's (and other knives), Tandanus, FW Sole, bichir, rope fish, puffers, bullrout, FW Lionfish, lungfish, elephantnose, eels, rays, sleepy cod, gars and needle fish (not that I imagine we will be seeing many of those).

you dont need to own the fish to take a photo of it and enter it just permission to photo it .... so that doesnt mean these people realise they have an oddball or tankbuster photo sitting somewhere lol

a list might make them realise wait on i have a pic to enter into this comp!

My interpretation is pretty much anything that didn't fit into any of the previous categories lol.

If in doubt, send it to Rovik and see what he says.

for me i consider a tank buster anything that grows over 30cm, a lot of people seem to go by that too, since the average aquarium is usually a 4' tank or smaller these fish would be tank busters
