+1 what buccal said.

If its early stages speak to Consumer Affairs/Consumer Protection/Dept Fair Trading.

If you have exhausted avenues with them then engage lawyer.

Probably? Do you have a fully qualified mechanic who is authorised to carry out work on cars under warrantyroblem is my brother in law test drove the car on saturday morning the only problem was an oil light came on the dealer said nothing we did the contract by email ad we live in esperance kept in conftact told him we would be there 4pm today then he texts me at 3.30 saying dont come up problem with the car after ringing him the oil light problem had not been solved being the gentle man i am we discussed why the fairy he did not disclose the problem before accepting $16000 for a 2012 hyundai i45 2000kms he said dont know when it will be fixed in the end i told him that i will pick it up in the morning no you can wait till it is fixed or i will refund your money i told him that i will pick it up in the morning and get it fixed myself under the warranty

Because we have been in the engine it wont be done under warranty so we need to fix it
I said so you have voided the warranty

No manufacturers allow outside warranty work to my knowledge

warranty work can be done by approved personnel only... unless your mechanic has been approved by the manufacturer and has written permission to carry out the said work then im pretty darn sure its a NO GO....

something sounds a bit fishy - i'd just get a full refund seeing its offered and go find another car mate.... its a buyers market - you dont need to deal with dodgy salesmen that are only after your hard earned cash and are not flexible when it comes to purchasing a vehicle....

but i would speak to consumer affairs first

Take it back, you have a right of return, just take it back. Hand the keys back and ask for your money back, there is a form you will need to present to them. You can get them from consumer affairs.
If you paid Cash you might have a battle, but you will win. If it's financed you will have better chance

Get a refund I am sure there are plenty of i45s for sale at that price and kms.

It's not worth the heart-ache and like the others said sounds a bit fishy. Back off now.

Lady at work got a 2nd hand car from Barbagellos 2 or 3 weeks back

Called them last week about something they did the dodge on, and got offered a full refund

If I were you, I'd be aiming for a refund. I wouldn't want the car if I knew what you now know

They sound dodgy. What's that saying again? something like "Slippery Sam the Used Car Man"

Out of interest, was it a bloke in Vic Park that wears a Cowboy Hat?

Get the MONEY... also research i45 problems. One of the girls I know purchased a new one and had similar problems. Took over 6 months of headache and still not resolved. She ended up using an expensive lawyer to get refund as they refused to give her a new car.

not sure if its possibly a batch problem. If its got an issue run....

bigjonhofish is right. Its a buyers market.

If u want a Skyline 350GT I got one for the same price... lol

best of luck mate sorting it out
