Pisces had a couple tanks full of em for $70 as stated. Otherwise I think they were $100-120?

Should also note that they are NOT FW. They can tolerate FW while young but need atleast some salt when they mature. I know of a couple US keepers that have had adults 'mysteriously' die in complete FW.

that is very interesting alex i didnt know that they should be kept in brackish water later on. As the lfs told me they r completely fresh water. what size can i keep them too or how long before i am required to convert them over to salt.

cheers

I obtained a moray eel from Midland and have used normal salt at 1tbsp to 5G at present. It is thriving which was backed up when Az came over an saw it a few weeks later.

It takes whitebait every two days (- now and again some mysis shrimp ?bloodworm -) and from the boys (nearly 3) hand - has also taken from myself and my 8 year old girl. Its awesome and he is hand fed all the time now. The joy on my boys face when he takes the food is priceless.

Hw is in a 360 litre wide footprint tank with a ghostie and 2 festaes. The salt was increased slowly to protect the BGK which is also thriving.

Anyway - cant recommend this fish enough and service from Az and Terry was superb.

Lawrence brought the batch in and sold a few to vebas when they first came in they were $70 for the smaller ones and $120 for the larger ones,
I remember because i wanted to buy one but didnt because i was worried that they would'nt last long in full fresh water.

Vebas had them at $110 when i was looking at them.
I saw them at another shop for $250 8O eesh!
Kinda getting pricey for my liking after seeing them at the cheaper prices.

There is no set time or size they can survive in full FW.

But why buy a fish if you know that you will be compromising its health by keeping it in less than ideal conditions?

I don’t think anyone including myself will fork out hundreds of dollars or more to buy a fish if they think that they are incapable of keeping it alive. Rest a sure i will do plenty of research prior to purchasing any fish whether it be $1 or $1000, but if by any chance my fish dies on me ill be sure to send u a pm.....”bring a six pack and some lemons”...lol
