Hey all,

Gave my 25L a little makeover tonight and felt like sharing biggrin.gif

Started in about September last year with my betta called Rainbow and two common BNs. Sadly, Rainbow died, and I have moved my two BNs to my 4ft smile.gif

When I got my new betta, Moonbeam, I decided to add more plant cover because I wanted shrimp.. The shrimp did fine for a while until I walked in and caught someone with one in his mouth ohmy.gif I guess he got a taste for them because after that the numbers just went down and down and now they're all gone! Very expensive meal for him but worth it smile.gif

I got bored at work today and I was thinking about my tank and decided I wanted to go from gravel to black sand! I bought some after work and got started...

There was one little white grain of sand so Moonbeam was fascinated with it and kept picking it up..

Pretty happy with the end result. Decided to move my ambulia into my 4ft and have this one just a crypt/java fern tank for the time being. The java fern on the front left doesn't look too good so I'm hoping it gets better sad.gif

Thanks for reading! biggrin.gif

I think that dark substrate always looks better. Is the java fern stuck straight in to the substrate? If so, it will probably go all mouldy. Attach it to a bit of wood and it should be happier

Yeah I felt like I was wasting my old gravel by throwing it out, but the dark gravel definitely gives it a whole new look and it matches my room more smile.gif

Oh so I should just tie it to driftwood like my anubias? Thanks, I had no idea!! smile.gif
