Clown Loach Behaviour
16 August 2011 - 08:12 PM
Hey People
I have been away in the US for 2 months but I'm back! And I've come home to things happening in my tank I haven't seen before.
I have a large fish tank (4ft x 2ft x 2ft) that contains 2 x 10-12cm Loaches, 2 x 6cm Loaches and 3 x 4 cm Loaches (all rough measurements) and some other fish.
The behavior I'm mainly asking about is the same large Loach chases around the one of smaller ones often swimming side by side with them and spinning in circles as if they're chasing each others tails (both of their bodies are touching against each other and sometimes they do it with more then one Loach at a time), I'm pretty sure it's not aggressive but I'm just curious as to what it is.
Google has failed me. All feedback is appreciated
Thanks

Wanting To Set Up A Breeding Tank
14 May 2011 - 01:03 PM
I'm wanting to set up a breeding tank, To be honest I'm new to the whole idea of breeding so I'm wanting to know what's a good breed I can learn with (that's smallish)
I have a 100L tank at my disposal (I just need to fix the sealant on it) but I wouldn't mind grabbing a 200L+ or something also, I imagine I'd need at least 2 tanks, from what I've read I need to be able to fit 6 fish in the tank to have the chance of a mating pair, so they'd have to be able to be raised in a 100L for now until I can get a 2 x 2 x 2 cube or something?
What do I need to breed fish, what are the best kind of fish to breed for a newbie? (don't say Guppys LOL)
Also, I have a 430+L tank with 3 Oscars in it, an albino, tiger and red, I was wondering the probability of 2 of these becoming a mating pair and also if there's anything I can do to encourage it? I plan on removing one of them (the one not part of the pair) so they can breed without problem. I got them all at different times and from different places, will this bring a problem?
Cheers guys

Way I Can Heat Up A Big Tank Asap
11 May 2011 - 11:00 PM
1 day before I am going to get my new tank, my current one stuffs up, the sealant epic failed and everything leaked everywhere in my room! I had to put 3 oscars in a 20L bucket while I drained that tank, moved ALL the furniture in my room to accommodate the new tank, then I had to like spam-whore phone calls to Bowdy until he picked up to ask if I could get the tank early lol! Top bloke!
Then after the ordeal of picking it up I had to like sonic back to my place and set up a 4 x 2 x 2 like freakin' jesus!
So what I need help with is, I need to heat up a 432L tank as fast as possible, I've managed to get it up to 21 degrees c, which is still wayyy too low, I'm gonna go get a new heater tomorrow morning but it could do with being higher
All in all, very happy with my new tank, once the water's cleared and finished, and I have my new driftwood etc in it I'll up some photos
