to one and all, building stuff, or changing stuff,or just plain old having fun.......

my parents own a metal fabrication workshop, in bayswater. if anyone would like any tank stands, shelf units, flashing for sheds, whatever, they will do it for cost of the metals for any members on PCS or Malawi dreams. they do all of the work for channel 7, nova, and chanel 9.

can be steel, ali, stainless, and checekplate, can also arrange powdercoating if wanted.

if you have any q's or plans, please email me on mattastokes@bigpond.com

cheers guys n gals,
matt, aka stokesy smile.gif

Made some progress over the last couple of days (took time off work). Thanks heaps to Brad for helping me out (again) cheers.gif

Insulation has been completed (was only 75% over winter which burnt the wallet).

Pipework for air has been run and air pump has been mounted.

Emptied two 6fters and a few 4fters, shifted the 12" rack to the rear corner of the shed.

Moved all the fish (except my cherished T. "chaikita" F1) all into an IBC during the move. Check out the Tropheus soup in the vid lol.

Slowly caught all the fish and returned them to their tanks, but this time kept them as species only (no catfish to hassle the T's etc).

(motion sickness warning sorry unsure.gif )

hey nice!.

i still havent done my air line around the shed. any reason you went pvc vs black poly pipe? i was swaying toward black so i can easily stab in new air lines.

is it just not as pretty?

Hey Matt

Not sure how well the air pumps go with black poly (thin diameter) due to pressure not equalising evening throughout the whole length (ie. sponges closest to pump will go flat out but the ones at the end get little or nothing). Probably more suitable for blowers??

I'm just guessing BTW. Hopefully someone else can clarify?

My PVC is 40mm.

Can also seal pvc 100% air tight very easy ..... not so easy with the black stuff.

i wonder if anyone has ever seen anyone builing a fish shed and called the cops thinking it was something else. i had the cops monitor me once because of the increase in power consumption, they thought i had a drug lab in my garage...til they saw the 150 discus import arrive !!! LMAO

good job

Air pump and piping is now functional in the shed. Will slowly phase out the canister filters.

Added two 6" 3 tier racks to the centre row. Next step is to sort out the front row. Rear row has been established for quite some time which is my tropheus rack.

And as promised.... THANKS KRYSTAL YOU'RE THE BEST!!! She's been motivating me... lol

Half way through putting up the lighting in my shed. Wanted to avoid the traditional bulky fluoro units, didn't want anything sitting on the tanks (limits access) and wanted something water proof or resistent.

Decided to go for LED rope. Gives a nice white light and isn't too intense.

The video below is taken at night hence why it's pitch black at the start and end wink.gif

Vid here
