Hi guys, I'm looking at getting a new tank (4x2.5x2) but my father has a back problem and can't move it. Has anyone got any ideas on how get it into the car while minimising the amount of lifting we'd have to do?

I can help you out unloading if you give me enough notice.
Can the seller help you out loading it in the car?

Have just asked. Is there anybody in Cannington or surrounds that would be willing to help get the tank into the car? According to tank weight calculators it should be about 130kg. A long shot but worth a try

2 men can easily move it... Just make sure you hold it from the corners, and have plenty of foam/sheets around

Tanks and floor boards, i can feel a disaster about to happen. Water and timber floors don't mix or should i say are a expensive mix.

I recently put floor boards down in most of my house... didnt want to decommission the tanks so I just laid the boards around the tank... still a piece of carpet under the tank. Kept a few floor boards to finish the job when the time comes though.

According to a couple of people I the tank will need to be resealed?? Dunno with the floorboards, they might leave carpet under and around the tank.

How did you go with the Neo mate? Was wishing you luck. :)  If you score and he/she goes in with the tandanus please let me know how it works out, i want to try it but the Neos are amongst my favourites   and dont want to risk anything.  Good luck and have a good silly season. School hols yeeehaaaa!

I'm guessing the tank is double braced and that is a bit of algae growth between the brace? It's pretty easy to run some new beads of silicon, the prep is the worst part, a good sharp blade and plenty of time is the go :)

Shayne, it's Shane-o88s and his Mangrove Jack beat it up so I'm gonna pick it up in a week or so. As for the Tandanus, I think I'm gonna sell them as I wanna make the 4x2.5x2 an actual biotope. Riggers, that photo is of along the bottom of the tank and there is algae growth AND sand under a lot of the silicone. I've had more people tell me it would be fine then not, but I'd rather not have 500l of water on the floor. Cheers for the info, I'll put more research in and perhaps try before new years day.

Well done!! You have got 1, Seen a photo of that on here when Shane 088 posted about his jack, i commented on my concern for his safety.Reckon you have scored the goods and think you will get a healthy well looked after fish, apart from a little bashing, good conditions it will bounce right back.

Yeah I'm sure it will! Someone has a Neosilurus Hyrtlii in a tank he wants to sell incl all fish so I've asked about that too. Hopefully I'll have 2 Neos at some point.
