Mod My Stand!

29 September 2012 - 08:06 AM

Hi guys

Just wanting some expert advice. Basically I've purchase a, stand for a 4x18 and also two 2x18's. They won't fit side by side add I didn't take into account the width of the glass. What's the easiest way to make them fit?

I was thinking about removing that end piece of the frame but am unfair of this having an effect on structural integrity. I've included a picture of where it is nailed to the frame.

Cheers
Jon

Ps. I'm very unskilled in carpentry

Stocking Suggestions

01 August 2012 - 09:06 PM

Hey guys,

Was just wondering what suggestions you would have for my new setup which is just cycling at the moment. It basically consists of an alcove of slate tiles (hand cracked tongue.gif) on the far left, and a smaller limestone cave on the right. The substrate is limesand at a depth of approx 1 inch. Scattered throughout are escargot shells and shells picked up from the red dot store which have decent sized openings as well).

The initial idea was to set up a larger tank for my multies but I'm liking the idea of possibly another type/ types of shell dweller or other Lake Tang cichlid that could coexist and obvious not be large fully grown.

Would anyone not put in multies as the trend seems to be if you put a small number they may take over the shell beds?
And what other cichlids would be able to coexist in this setup?

Also managed to get the water fairly high in the KH and GH (AquaREALM salts)

Cheers in advance,
Jonathan
